Thank you for serving our parish community! These guidelines are provided to support you in your ministry and help us celebrate the liturgy with reverence, confidence, and unity.
Saint Joseph Church invites you to be a Eucharistic Minister and/or a Lector. Candidates must be a member of St. Joseph's Parish, received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, and be a member in good standing of the Roman Catholic Church.
Altar Servers assist the Presider at Mass by serving at the altar. They participate in all weekend liturgies as well as special Masses throughout the year. Some of their responsibilities include carrying the cross or candles in the processional and recessional, and helping the Presider with the preparation of the altar for the Eucharist.
Altar Servers may serve as little as once a month or as often as every weekend. The ministry is open to boys and girls in 3rd grade and above.
To become an altar server, volunteers must attend a 1 hour training session held in the Church (a parent must remain present during the session).
*Registration is currently closed. If you have a child interested in becoming an Altar Server, please contact the Parish House at 973-543-5950.
